Manslaughter charges have been dropped against actor Alec Baldwin for the fatal on-set shooting that killed cinematographer Halyna Hutchins in October 2021.

That doesn't mean it's all over.

The charges were dropped "without prejudice," which, Deadline explains, means that the case can be reopened. USA Today quotes the prosecutors: "Our follow-up investigation will remain active and ongoing."

Note: Deadline also reports that Hutchins' family will still press charges against Baldwin in a civil suit.

Baldwin was seen on the film's set this weekend for the first time since the shooting, People reports.

Business

Just in: Jeff Shell is out as CEO at NBCUniversal for an "inappropriate relationship," Variety reports.

A replacement has not been named.

Film and Television

The Super Mario Bros. Movie is on track to become first billion-dollar movie released this year, Variety reports. So far, the movie has grossed $871 million globally.

If Mario is good at one thing, it's collecting coins!

Maybe not so good: Ghosted. The Apple TV+ movie that starts Ana de Armas and Chris Evans "is one of the worst romcoms in recent memory" according to Rolling Stone.

Rotten Tomatoes clocks it in at 28%.

Fashion

Anticipation is building for the Met Gala.

This year's celebration honors the late Karl Lagerfeld, who designed for fashion houses like Chanel, Fendi and Chloé.

The Costume Institute at the Metropolitan Museum of Art (where the gala is held) will display the exhibit “Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty.” The exhibit becomes open to the public on May 5 and runs through July 16.

Vogue also honors Lagerfeld on their May cover.

Sofia Richie, daughter of Lionel Richie and Diane Alexander, married music executive Elliot Grainge in the South of France this weekend.

Her dress was custom Chanel haute couture (one of three), which she had made in close collaboration with Chanel's creative director, Virginie Viard, Vogue said in an Instagram caption.
